Review of the Margaritaville DM1000 Frozen Concoction Maker

Summer just isn’t summer without a good margarita in hand. But the stuff that comes in the big plastic tubs just isn’t cutting it anymore, and my blender can’t seem to blend ice to the right consistency—all I get are huge chunks! So, I’m looking to get myself something to help me make great margaritas to enjoy with friends and family this summer!

One of the products that I’ve been researching is from the Margaritaville manufacturer. Margaritaville is known for producing great appliances for all drink-making needs, so this alone makes the DM1000 seem very promising. Here is everything that I’ve learned about this model.

What I’ve learned.

This unit is more than just the ordinary blender. It can automatically shave ice and blend up to 32 ounces of your favorite frozen drinks. And all it takes is the push of a couple buttons! You just have to fill the ice reservoir with ice, pour your desired ingredients into the jar, and make your selections. First you have to select from these options:

  • Full serving (32 ounces)
  • Single serving
  • Two servings
  • Three servings

Then all that’s left to do is let the machine work its magic. It will automatically mix the right amount of ice with your ingredients. The fact that the ice is not thrown into the jar with the rest of the ingredients seems to be the secret to this machine’s success. By doing this, the machine prevents your beverages from tasting watered down. This unit has simple front access controls, a stable footprint, an easy-to-clean design and a generous handle and drip-free spout on the glass jar for easy serving. The great thing about this machine—it makes consistently amazing drinks.

Other information.

  • Includes four coasters
  • Does not come with food processor attachments
  • Jar is made of glass
  • Comes in various colors, to match your kitchen
  • Comes with instructions and recipes to get your started right away
  • Can be purchased for $300 on Amazon
  • Comes with a one-year warranty

What other people said.

Of course, I don’t own this product yet, so I looked to other reviews to see what people who have tried this product said. On Amazon, it received 4.5 out of 5 stars. Therefore, most of the reviews were positive. One customer said:
“Exactly true to its claims, the thing actually makes perfect consistency margaritas and any other frozen drinks you can think of. I think I like it more than my wife. It has a “power tool” vibe to it that guys appreciate. Spinning blades and high speed motors. What could possibly go wrong?”

Clearly, this model is fun for anyone to use.

Another reviewer informed Amazon readers that:
“One nice feature about this machine is that as the ice in the ice chamber melts, the water is channeled into a collection reservoir, which is easily removable to dump out. The water never mixes with the drink mix.”

This is something that I had not heard of in my research, but was glad to learn from an actual user.

So, all in all, this seems like a great machine that would make my kitchen even better than it already is! I can’t wait to get my hands on this device, so I can start making the perfect summer margaritas!
